One evening, sometime in the 1970s, my dad - an honest man - returned to his client’s house to take two eggs from their chicken coop.
The next morning, after tasting those fresh eggs my parents realized they missed the simple joy of homegrown food from their childhood in the former Yugoslavia, today’s Croatia.
Those two eggs sparked 3 generations of sustainable farming and real food on the family farm.
At Better Acres we have named the front sitting room “The Chicken Coop” in honour of that moment back in 1970.
Farmers know that good things take time. They don’t cut corners so neither do we.
