The next morning, after tasting those fresh eggs my parents realized they missed the simple joy of homegrown food from their childhood in the former Yugoslavia, today’s Croatia.
Those two eggs sparked 3 generations of sustainable farming and real food on the family farm.
At Better Acres we have named the front sitting room “The Chicken Coop” in honour of that moment back in 1970.
You taught me the value of farming, patience, hard work, and growing our own food.
And now, these farm values are blended into every scoop of Better Acres ice cream – a taste as fresh and honest as the first harvest.

It all began with my youngest, Alexei (Lex). When Lex was younger, he adored ice cream, but I struggled to find one with simple, clean ingredients. That challenge inspired me to create Betterwith (today’s Better Acres), where every scoop is crafted with simple, real ingredients only (meaning no gums, no additives, no junk – ever!)
